Choosing Your Fries for your Air Fryer Loaded Fries
Grab whatever fries you think will look good loaded up. Regular french fries are my personal favorite, but waffle fries are great with cheese, and crinkle cut or steak fries work too.
Seasoning the Fries
Season the fries as soon as they come out of the air fryer, while they’re hot, so the seasoning sticks. Throw a layer of your favorite seasoning over the top. Barbecue seasoning is our go-to.
Cheese and Bacon Notes
- Shred your own cheese: It melts better than pre-shredded bags in the air fryer.
- Nacho cheese: Warm it up and drizzle it over the top, especially on waffle fries.
- Bacon: Use real cooked bacon, or be lazy and buy bacon bits. Both taste great.
Topping Ideas
Green onions, jalapeños, and sour cream are great. There are tons of options, so load them up however you like.
Tips for Success for the best Air Fryer Loaded Fries
- Spread the fries in a single layer so they crisp up.
- Add the cheese for the last minute or two if you want it melted.
Storage for your left over Air Fryer Loaded Fries
Loaded fries are best made fresh. Leftover plain fries can be re-crisped in the air fryer.
